Drug Seizure in Sarnia


During the month of January, 2017, members of the Sarnia Police Service Vice unit entered into an investigation regarding a suspect residing in the 800 block of Wellington Street, in the City of Sarnia, that was trafficking methamphetamine.

On February 21, 2017, officers from the Vice Unit requested and were granted a search warrant to search the residence of the suspect located in the 800 block of Wellington Street. Prior to the warrant being executed officers were able to locate the suspect at approximately 5:40 pm and arrest him after conducting a traffic stop of the vehicle he was driving. The suspect, a 31 year old man from Sarnia, was found to be in possession of various controlled substances and a quantity of cash.

At approximately 5:50 pm officers attended the address in the 800 block of Wellington Street and executed the warrant. Present within the residence was a 45 year old male and a 46 year old female who were both taken into custody.

Secondary to a search of the residence, along with the drugs found in the vehicle stop, the following drugs were seized:

1) Approximately 80 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of over $8000

2) Approximately 950 ml of methadone with a street value of $950

3) Approximately 23 grams of marihuana with a street value of $230

4) 23 tablets of hydromorphone with a street value of $690

5) Approximately 4 grams of cannabis-resin with a street value of $190

Currently all three suspects remain in custody and are awaiting a bail hearing later today.

The 31 year old man from the traffic stop faces 3 counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and 2 counts for possession of a controlled substance.

The 46 year old female located at the residence faces 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and 2 counts for possession of a controlled substance.

The 45 year old man located at the residence faces 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and 2 counts for possession of a controlled substance.
