Sarnia's New Music Festival: Bluewater BorderFest; which is set to take place in Centennial Park on July 28th and 29th, received several huge announcements about the artists performing at this years event when the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) announced the nominations for the 2017 Canadian Country Music Awards.
Leading the way with Nominations, Saturday's Bluewater BorderFest Headliner Brett Kissel, who was nominated for Five Awards which include: Male Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, Single of the Year, Interactive Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
The largest surprise within the announcements came when the CCMA Rising Star Nominations were announced, as Sarnia will be fortunate enough to have Three of the Five Nominated Performs at the Inaugural Bluewater BorderFest Event, as The James Barker Band, Aaron Goodvin and Dan Davidson were all nominated for the Rising Star CCMA Artist of the Year Award.
Overall the James Barker Band lead all artists being nominated for: The CCMA Rising Star Award, Single of the Year, Group or Duo of the Year, Video of the Year and Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year; while Dan Davidson was also Nominated for Songwriter of the Year too.
In addition to the CCMA Nominations, it was released that American Emerging Superstar, Dylan Scott now currently holds the Number Two Song in the USA, over artists such as Blake Shelton, Sam Hunt, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood and many more. If Dylan Scott's song "My Girl" can continue to climb up one more spot, we could be announcing the song as his very first Number 1 Hit at Sarnia's Bluewater BorderFest Event.
The latest news is that Sarnia's own Eric Ethridge's song 'Liquors Callin The Shots' has now climbing on the Top 30 charts, as that is a huge accomplishment for a new Artist to do. Eric's Music Video for Liquor's Callin The Shots has also been released, as the Music Video was filmed in Sarnia and has already been viewed thousands and thousands of times within the past 48 hours.
Bluewater BorderFest's Official Lineup Includes:
