Snack Pack Program

Summer should be fun and carefree for elementary school children. Children should not have to worry about when they will eat next. The Inn of The Good Shepherd’s Snack Pack program, is a program distributing nutritious snacks to youngsters in geared-to-income housing neighbourhoods in Sarnia and now in Lambton County. The Inn’s program is in it’s second year and was so successful last year in Sarnia, it has expanded into Corunna, Thedford, Kettle Point, Watford and Alvinston.

Many families rely on student nutrition programs provided by our local elementary schools. Once school is on summer break, these children are not getting the food and nutrition they need and parents and caregivers face additional emotional and financial burdens.

Fruit, juice boxes, yogurt tubes, cheese sticks, apple sauce, pudding cups, Fruit2go, and more are among the goodies in the packages, which are provided to those families who have registered. Currently The Inn’s Mobile Market distributes the Snack Packs during the Market’s weekly stops in the above mentioned locales.

To register your child/children, call 519-344-1746 x 247 or visit any of the Mobile Market locations.

Snack Pack bags are provided by Healthy Kids Community Challenge Lambton Partners. Funding sponsors of the Snack pack program are Catherine Wilson Foundation, Noelle’s Gift, Love First, Healthy Kids Community Challenge Lambton Partners and Sarnia Community Foundation.
