On September 11, 2017, at approximately 3:00 pm, Sarnia Police, Fire, and Lambton Paramedics attended the intersection of London Road and Russell Street regarding four vehicles involved in a collision. According to witnesses at the scene, a vehicle on London Road was facing east and waiting to turn left and head northbound onto Russell Street. While waiting, the light turned red, forcing that vehicle to complete its turn and get out of the intersection. As that vehicle was completing its left hand turn another car on London Road was travelling westbound and according to witnesses entered the intersection on a red light striking the turning car. The impact caused the vehicle making the left hand turn to roll over and strike two other vehicles that were stationary and facing southbound on Russell Street. The driver of the vehicle that rolled over was taken to hospital for observation but was released a short time after with minor injuries. A 56 year old female driver, from Sarnia, was charged with failing to stop for a red light.
