Sarnia Sting Review

This Weekend Saturday, September 30 Kingston Frontenacs @ Sarnia Sting 7:05 PM Sunday, October 1 Ottawa 67’s @ Sarnia Sting 2:05 PM

Sting Notes Justin Fazio: Two quality starts for the veteran goaltender to open the season as he recorded a 32 save performance in a comeback shootout win against Guelph. From there, in a goaltending battle with Kitchener’s Anthony Dumont-Bouchard, Fazio recorded 22 saves in the tight 3-1 loss against the Rangers. Jordan Ernst: One of the OHL’s top goal producers in pre-season play, Ernst produced points in both of Sarnia’s two starts to open the season. He chipped in with an assist in the win against the Storm, before recording a power play goal on a wicked shot to represent the Sting offence against Kitchener. Connor Schlichting: The overage defenceman has been terrific for the Sting in both pre- season play and with his work in back to back games this past weekend. While producing solid outings on the defensive side of the puck, Schlichting scored a crucial goal in Friday’s comeback win against the Storm after posting two goals in exhibition play. Drake Rymsha: The Los Angeles Kings prospect has been a consistent source of points since joining the Sting and that trend continued upon his return from his NHL camp. Rymsha sparked Sarnia in the season opener with a two-point performance and shootout goal in Guelph and added an assist in Saturday’s loss to Kitchener. OHL Milestones: Two members of the Sting secured their first points of their OHL careers this past weekend with Hugo Leufvenius posting an assist in the win in Guelph, and Braden Henderson also counting an assist as his first ever point, earned Saturday at home against Kitchener.
