Two Impaired Drivers in Two Hours


On November 20th, 2017 the Sarnia Police Service arrested two impaired drivers in just over two hours.

The first incident was called in shortly after 7pm when the driver in this matter was witnessed travelling westbound on London Line and repeatedly weaving from the shoulder towards eastbound oncoming traffic. The caller continued to follow the vehicle to a private driveway on Brigden Side Road where the driver was eventually blocked in by the witness. The caller in this case also decided to exit her vehicle and remove the keys from the ignition of the vehicle she was following. On police arrival, the driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Driving and then transported to the Sarnia Police Service for further breath tests. As a result, the driver registered readings of more than twice the legal limit and was also charged with Having Over 80mg of Alcohol in 100ml of Blood. Seventy year old Jill Keelan of Sarnia was later released on a Promise to Appear.

The second incident was called in shortly after 9pm when another witness called in a suspected impaired driver who had stumbled to his vehicle in the 700 block of Indian Road North. After leaving the parking lot, the caller also followed this vehicle through the city and the driver was eventually stopped by police in the area of Confederation Street and Phillip Street. As a result of the driver displaying many signs of impairment, he was subsequently placed under arrest for Impaired Driving and also transported to the Sarnia Police Service for further breath tests. The driver in this case also registered readings of more than twice the legal limit and he too was charged with Having Over 80mg of Alcohol in 100ml of Blood. Sixty-two year old Dale Miller of Sarnia was later released on a Promise to Appear.
