As part of an ongoing investigation officers from the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit had reasonable grounds to believe that a 25 year old female, from Sarnia, was trafficking purple fentanyl powder out of her residence which is located in the 100 block of College Avenue North.
On April 17, 2019, a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act warrant was requested and granted to search the suspect’s residence. At approximately 6:10 pm officers had set up surveillance on the residence and were able to arrest the suspect in her driveway, as she had just returned to her home.
She was taken into custody and transported to the station where she was searched and a quantity of methamphetamine and purple powder fentanyl was located on her person.
A search of the suspect’s residence was also conducted, in accordance to the warrant, and officers located further drugs and evidence.
In total officers located:
17.26 grams of purple powder fentanyl with a street value of $8600
10.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $1030
$1050 in Canadian currency
The accused, Cheyenne Jackson, 25 years of age, faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking drugs (fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine). The suspect was held in custody to await a bail hearing.
