The Sarnia Police Service Collision Reporting Centre

The Sarnia Police Services Board has approved an Agreement with Accident Support Services International Ltd. (ASSI) on the implementation of a Collision Reporting Centre (CRC) at the Sarnia Police Headquarters (555 Christina Street N location in Sarnia). The CRC will open on June 11, 2019 at 11 a.m. The hours of operation will be 10 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Accident Support Services International Ltd. has provided superior customer service since 1994. ASSI’s goal is to facilitate an active partnership between police and insurers in post-accident care by providing knowledgeable advice and assistance to those involved in collisions. This results in increased convenience for the public as well as greater road safety. Police will still attend collisions involving criminal charges, damage outside the vehicle, serious injuries and certain other circumstances that may require police to attend. All other collisions will be directed to the CRC. Supporting insurers fund the program; there is no cost to the police or the public for these services. The focus is enhancing policing services to the public via the CRC. It will allow officers the opportunity to increase their effort on traffic enforcement initiatives within the community. It also assists in minimizing officers being tied up on minor collisions when they are required for higher priority calls. Finally, individuals that have been involved in collisions can exchange information and report to the CRC at their earliest convenience rather than waiting hours at times for an officer to respond to a minor collision. Upon arrival at the center, citizens are greeted by a member of Accident Support Services’ staff, who provides help to complete the police report, applies the “Damage Reported to Police” sticker, photographs the damage to the vehicle, and offers the customer the opportunity to contact family, broker or their insurance company directly from the Centre. Citizens are provided with a one-stop service opportunity for all their reporting needs. Please follow us through our social media, web page, and other forms of media as we continue to update the public regarding the CRC. www.accsupport.com
