Sunglass and Mug Thief Arrested


A 44 year old female from Sarnia has been arrested for several thefts involving high end sunglasses and Yeti travel mugs.

Over a three week period from May 2019 to June 2019, the accused attended a store in the 1600 block of London Line and allegedly stole nearly $5000.00 worth of Yeti mugs.

On June 8th and June 26th, the accused attended an Optometry Clinic in the 1100 block of Lambton Mall Road. On these two occasions, she is accused of stealing over $6000.00 worth of name brand sunglasses and eye glass frames.

On Thursday, June 27th, 2019, shortly after 5pm, officers from the Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant in the 700 block of Melrose Avenue in Sarnia. The accused was placed under arrest at this time and Detectives were able to recover a very significant amount of stolen property including 26 Yeti Mugs and 37 pairs of glasses. Detectives also seized a half gram of suspected crystal methamphetamine and just over a tenth gram of suspected cocaine.

The accused, Tina Savic, has been charged with Breach of Probation, Theft Over $5000.00, two counts of Theft Under $5000.00, two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. She has since been released from custody on a Promise to Appear and Officer in Charge Undertaking.
