On July 15, 2019, the Traffic Branch of the Sarnia Police Service was monitoring traffic on Confederation Street, east of Indian Road, Sarnia. At around 11:03 AM, a vehicle was observed travelling east on Confederation Street. Police attempted to stop the vehicle to confirm that the driver was licenced. The vehicle fled from police. The vehicle began to accelerate quickly as the police cruiser pulled directly behind the car. The vehicle weaved between eastbound vehicles on Confederation Street in an effort to flee police. The vehicle then turned north on Finch Drive, Sarnia. The vehicle lost control as it made the turn on to Finch Drive. The vehicle began sliding sideways and struck the curb on the northeast corner of the intersection causing extensive damage to the vehicle. The vehicle travelled northbound on Finch before eventually stopping at the south entrance of Treewood Crescent. The female driver was immediately arrested for Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The male passenger in the vehicle at the time of the pursuit was investigated. He was found to be breaching a Recognizance of Bail by communicating with and being in the company of the female driver. The male was arrested and was searched incident to arrest. During the search police located about 7 grams of cocaine on the male. The female driver, Jennifer Pyette, 29 years, of Corunna is charged with flight from police, dangerous driving and driving while under suspension. Michael Gerald Adams, 28 years, of Sarnia, is charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Breach of Recognizance.
