Vice Unit Drug Arrest


During the month of July 2019, officers of the Sarnia Police Vice Unit were investigating drug offences in the 500 block of Michigan Avenue. As a result, a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant was applied for in relation to a residence in that area. Meanwhile, a male associated to the residence, Ahmed Sardar, 24 years of age, was also under investigation for the offence of Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking. On July 12, 2019, Vice Unit officers observed Sardar and a female, Alisha Allen, 25 years of age, of Sarnia, in a vehicle, engaging in suspected drug trafficking in the City’s north end. As a result, Sardar and Allen were arrested. On his arrest, Sardar was found to have almost 6 grams of cocaine in his possession. Officers also located a significant amount of Canadian Curreny in the vehicle being operated by Sardar. During the subsequent execution of the search warrant at the house in the 500 block of Michigan Avenue, on July 13, 2019, officers located the following in Sardar’s room: · Digital scales · Drug packaging material · Brass knuckles · 145 grams of cocaine (street value $14,513) · 48 Ecstasy tablets (street value $1,200) · $1,700 cash Sardar and Allen were charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking. Sardar was additionally charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Possession of Ecstasy for the Purpose of Trafficking. Sardar and Allen were held in custody awaiting a bail hearing on the above charges.
