Local Bank Robbery

On July 28, 2019, at approximately 3:50 pm two males entered the Toronto Dominion Bank located at 1210 London Road (London Road and Pontiac Drive) in the City of Sarnia. Both were wearing hoods and black masks which completely concealed their faces.
One suspect advised everyone in the bank that a robbery was taking place and to get down on the ground while the other suspect jumped over the counter to retrieve the money. During the robbery both suspects were carrying what appeared to be handguns. No one was injured during the robbery.
Upon completing the robbery the suspects fled the scene in a motor vehicle. A Sarnia Police officer located the vehicle heading southbound on Modeland Road in the City of Sarnia and attempted a traffic stop but was unable to stop the vehicle.
At approximately 5:50 pm the Sarnia Police Service were informed that the two suspects were arrested in the City of London by the joint efforts of the London Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police. Officers were able locate money and the firearms, the firearms were determined to be replica guns. The two suspects were transported to Sarnia last evening to face charges.
A 21 year old male and a 23 year old male, neither of which are from Sarnia, face the following charges:
Robbery using a firearm
Disguise with intent
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Flight from peace officer
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
Both suspects will be attending court later today for a bail hearing.
