As part of a continuous effort to deal with unlicensed and illegal cannabis dispensaries the Sarnia Police Service, in conjunction with the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team (PJFCET), have executed a second warrant in two days.
Sarnia Police along with the PJFCET, executed a section 87 search warrant under the Cannabis Act in the 1000 block of Tashmoo Avenue to search the location known as the Tashmoo Dispensary.
Just after 11:45 am, on July 31, 2019, officers made entry into the Tashmoo Dispensary and arrested two employees that were present.
Officers also located a large variety of cannabis related products which included a number of cannabis plants, vials of THC/CBD oils, edibles, honey oil, cannabis coffee, cannabis bud, shatter, along with other products.
The total amount of product seized was over $253,000.00 along with approximately $18,000.00 in currency.
A 52 year old and a 22 year old male were both arrested and released on an Appearance Notice (Form 9) for possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.
The Sarnia Police Service with the assistance of the PJFCET will continue to enforce the Cannabis Act against these dispensaries that are not licensed and have no regulatory control of the product being sold.
