2022 Race to Erase Proceeds To Fund a 'Train Your Brain' program site.
Sarnia, Ontario, August 29— Saturday, May 28th was the 2022 Race to Erase event, which raised $27,954 in support of eight local charities, among them Literacy Lambton. Four teams selected Literacy Lambton as their charity of choice: Teams Read It and Weep, The 789s, Team Sloth, and The Magic Erasers, raising a combined total of $3,806 for Literacy Lambton.

Literacy Lambton Executive Director Tracy Pound remarks: "This donation is so valuable. It will fully fund one of our six Train Your Brain program sites this Fall. This free, eight-week evening program helps kids in grades 3 & 4 grow confidence as learners and improve their foundational math & reading skills while having fun. What may surprise our community is that Literacy Lambton is NOT funded to provide children's programming. It is ONLY through the generosity of private donors, corporate funders, service club grants, and our agency's own fundraising efforts that we can advance our mission: to create and deliver exceptional literacy learning opportunities for the residents of Lambton County.
" Train Your Brain will start the first week of October through the end of November. Parents interested in registering their children for the program may anticipate online registration via literacylambton.org to open around the third week of September following an official announcement on Literacy Lambton's Facebook page. 2022 Race to Erase Proceeds To Fund a 'Train Your Brain' program site.
"It was great to bring Race to Erase back to Sarnia after a long hiatus. This year brought new and exciting challenges, along with new charities and participants. Since the first event was held in 2006, Race to Erase has raised over $700,000 in Sarnia, London, and Cambridge. We are already looking forward to Race to Erase 2023!"
