Bluewater Health and VISION Move COVID Residents to Hospital

Bluewater Health and Vision 74 Inc. Nursing Home have made the decision to move the remaining COVID-19-positive patients to Bluewater Health. Announced yesterday, the two organizations are working together to control the ongoing spread of the virus at the nursing home, which has been in outbreak for over a month.
The total tally of residents who have contracted the virus since the onset of the pandemic is 24 with 9 residents currently COVID-positive – this will all be moved to Bluewater Health in Sarnia, on Frtiday May 29, 2020. Staff infection rates have also increased, with 24 Vision staff having also tested positive overall and 16 currently positive.
Bluewater Health has cared for almost 60 COVID-19 patients since the beginning of the pandemic and is well-versed in virus management, infection control, and ensuring quality health outcomes. Vision will continue to focus their efforts on the excellent care they continue to give in the other areas of the home. Removing the home from outbreak will assist the home in returning the home to a more normalized state, repatriate more staff and continue to enhance PPE and infection control practices through the ongoing support of the Bluewater Health management team.
All Vision residents will be returning to Vision Nursing Home as soon as they are COVID-free, through the support of all parties involved: Lambton Public Health, Bluewater Health and Vision.
