The list, published by Newsweek, was again developed by Statista Inc. – a global market research and consumer data company. The rankings were compiled based on recommendations from hospital professionals, patient survey results and medical performance indicators. Toronto had the top four and six hospitals in the top 10 Canadian hospitals while Montreal had two hospitals, and Calgary and Vancouver each had one. The 2021 ranking was validated by a global board of experts from renowned healthcare institutions and universities around the world.
