COVID-19 Outbreak at Bluewater Health Declared Over

SARNIA & PETROLIA – February 8, 2021 – Bluewater Health, in consultation with Lambton Public Health, has declared an end to the COVID-19 outbreak at the Sarnia hospital.
The General Medicine unit was closed to admissions after the outbreak was declared on January 22, 2021, and enhanced monitoring shows no evidence of further transmission between patients or staff. It has been 14 days since the last COVID-positive test was received. All COVID-positive patients have since been transferred to the COVID unit in the hospital.
Bluewater Health is grateful for the support of all staff and professional staff, the COVID-19 swabbing team, and the community during this time. Diligent infection prevention and control measures were key in helping control the outbreak.
Bluewater Health currently has 4 COVID-positive patients in hospital.
