Not A Good Start to the New Year

On Janaury 9, 2020, at approximately 2:15 am, an officer observed a car travelling northbound on Murphy Road swerving in its lane. After observing the vehicle not driving in a safe manner the office conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver it was determined that she had consumed alcohol and a demand was made to supply a suitable sample of breath into a road side screening device. Once the test was completed the device indicated that the driver had failed and she was arrested and taken into custody.
The accused was then transported to the station where she supplied further samples of breath into an Intoxilyzer Instrument before a qualified breath technician. Once the test was completed the instrument had determined that the accused had well over twice the legal limit of alcohol in her blood.
Bianca Dorina Lesenciuc, 32 years of age, now faces one count of blood alcohol of 80 mg plus.
On January 10, 2020, at approximately 12:50 am, a car being driven westbound on Errol Road North, in the area of Windermere Crescent, mounted the north curb and struck a wooden hydro pole breaking it in half and leaving the upper portion suspended by the hydro wires. The vehicle continued westbound along the sidewalk and lawns of various homes. The driver then struck a vehicle, along with a wooden fence, a grey utility box, a pick-up truck, another wooden fence, and finally came to rest on the sidewalk on Errol Road in the 1000 block.
Upon the arrival of Sarnia Police Officers the driver of the motor vehicle was taken into custody for impaired operation. He was subsequently transported to the hospital for injuries sustained and a blood demand was made to determine the amount of alcohol in his blood.
Alexander J. Gibson, 56 years of age, of Sarnia, has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and the Sarnia Police Service is awaiting the results from the blood sample taken.
