Sarnia Fire Rescue Services Respond To A Structure Fire


SARNIA (July 03, 2019) at 4:45am on Wednesday July 03, 2019, Sarnia Fire Rescue Services (SFRS) responded to a report of a structure fire on the 300 block of Bright Street.

Firefighters quickly responded and arrived to find visible flames at the front of the house. Firefighters conducted a search and quickly extinguished the fire containing most of it to the exterior of the home.

Fortunately working smoke alarms sounding woke up the occupants and everyone was safely evacuated from the home. There are no injuries to report. Due to the quick response from firefighters the fire was contained and the home was saved. The cause of this fire was determined to be accidental in nature.

Sarnia Fire Rescue Services wants to remind everyone that working smoke alarms do save lives and to always fully extinguish smoking materials. Never throw smoking materials in planters, peat moss or mulch.
