SARNIA (Nov 26, 2020) at 3:55am on Thursday Nov 26, 2020, Sarnia Fire Rescue Services (SFRS) responded to a report of an apartment fire on the 100 block of Queen Street.
Firefighters quickly responded, made entrance to the apartment unit on fire and removed one occupant. Firefighters also extinguished the fire and proceeded to ventilate the apartment.
Due to the quick response by firefighters everyone was safely evacuated from the building and there are no injuries to report. The fire was contained to the unit of origin and there was no extensive damage. It has been determined that the fire was intentionally set. Sarnia Police Service will be taking over the investigation.
Sarnia Fire Rescue wants to remind everyone that working smoke alarms do save lives and to always know your apartments emergency escape routes and procedures.
