Tourism Sarnia Lambton Presents a Virtual Canada Day Fireworks Celebration for Lambton County

Lambton County, June 25, 2021 - With regular Canada Day festivities still postponed due to COVID-19, Tourism Sarnia-Lambton has again partnered with snapd media to experience a virtual fireworks experience that will give people something special to commemorate Canada Day right from the comfort of their own backyards, balconies or living rooms.

“Last year Sarnia-Lambton had the third most views in Canada with 7,512 downloads watching the virtual experience.” said Mark Perrin, Executive Director of Tourism Sarnia Lambton“. The feedback Tourism SarniaLambton received was phenomenal, as the virtual experience was enjoyed by many family celebrations, and it also allowed people who otherwise might not be able to attend a usual fireworks celebration, to have a celebration experience as well.

“This year theme is triumph, as it suggests victory and is often used in the context of overcoming adversity”, commented Daniel Ramlogan, Chief Strategy Officer of snapd. “We selected this theme for our virtual fireworks given the difficult year we have collectively faced due to the pandemic and the brighter future ahead”.

Legendary Olympian Silken Laumann shares her story of triumph and leads the countdown for this year’s firework display at 9:30pm EST. People can access the innovative Canada Day experience by downloading the snapd HUB app on their mobile device. The Lambton County Virtual Canada Day Celebration can be viewed anywhere within the boundaries of Lambton County.
