At approximately 12:45 AM, on May 24, 2020, Sarnia Police responded to the 200 block of Christina Street South. Officers located a male who had been severely beaten and with no clothing on lying on the front lawn of an apartment building in the area.
Paramedics were contacted to render medical attention to the 22-year-old victim from Sarnia. From information received the victim was able to muster enough strength to leave a residence in the area and collapsed where police located him.
Officers attended the residence where the incident occurred, which was only a short distance away, and located a second victim who had also been severely beaten by the suspect. This victim was 59 years of age and also required medical attention.
It is believed that both victims were assaulted by various weapons.
It was determined that the suspect is a young male offender from Sarnia. The accused was located and taken into custody without incident. The young offender faces two counts of aggravated assault, one count of break and enter, and two counts of failing to comply with a court sentence.
Currently both victims remain in hospital in serious but stable condition.
The young offender remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
