United Way of Sarnia-Lambton Campaign Hits Major Milestone

United Way of Sarnia-Lambton continues its trek to the $1,900,000 Needs Target. “We are very excited to announce the fundraising campaign has reached the 50% mark,” said Vicky Ducharme, Campaign Chair. “The community has come together when the need is greatest. There have been several donations in the last few days that have brought us to the half-way point.”

“The contributions from local workplaces, individual donors and a corporate gift from Enbridge pushed the campaign forward today. Donations allow United Way to address issues with actions and results,” said Ducharme “the next step in the campaign is crucial, we only have a few weeks left to raise the final dollars.”

The annual campaign encourages area employers and community members to build and strengthen Sarnia-Lambton by bringing people and resources together to facilitate change in our three focus areas – Healthy, Resilient Successful Kids, Empowering and Strengthening Self Sustaining Families; and Healthy, Safe and Independent Seniors.

“Companies and individuals who haven’t started their campaigns or pledged yet still have the opportunity to do so. Each dollar that is received equals more ways we can help children to succeed academically; support healthy lifestyles as well as help families and individuals achieve financial stability,” said Dave Brown, United Way Executive Director.
