Youth Charged With Attempted Robbery

On June 10, 2020, at approximately 4:50 PM, the Sarnia Police Service had received a call regarding two male youth that were running from another young male who was attempting to rob them.
According to information received the two victims, met the young offender in the 200 block area of Wellington Street. The accused allegedly attended with a BB gun, which was a replica of a Beretta handgun, and a set of brass knuckles. The accused used the replica handgun in an attempt to rob the two victims of property the accused believed they had in their possession. The accused pointed the replica handgun at each of them, and in the process, fired a BB that struck one in the leg and fired a second time which struck the other male in the neck. All three of fled the area.
Upon completing the investigation officers were able to determine who the accused was and that all three knew each other.
The accused, a young offender, was arrested and charged with the following:
· Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
· Two counts of attempted robbery
· Two counts of using an imitation firearm while attempting to commit an offence
· One count of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
This matter incident was an isolated matter and all three individuals knew each other.
