Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca announced this morning that the Hockey Club has acquired left wing Kai Schwindt in exchange for a 9th round pick (GUE) in the 2024 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.
After signing as a free agent to the Steelheads for the 2021-22 season, Schwindt finished the regular season with 17 points in total (12G, 5A). Last year he tallied a season best of 25 points with 12 goals and 13 assists.
“Kai will be returning from the Florida Panthers,” shares Seca, “where he’s played NHL exhibition games and most recently with the Florida Everblades in the ECHL. He’s a big body who loves the physical game, and plays with good puck confidence. Kai is a player we’ve tracked for the last 2 years and believe his ability is just starting to reach its potential. He will add much needed size, physicality, and leadership to our group. We welcome Kai and the Schwindt family to Sarnia.”
